i have a compaq v3000 which equip wit AMD turion64X2 TL 50 1Gb Ram n nvidia and OEM vista basic. My problem is everytime when i burn a disc , or install a program, there is a msg appear for confirmation either to continue or cancel. As soon as i pressed to continue the screen goes blank (looks quite similar like a sleep mode) then i automatic appears again after app 2 sec. or it will appear after i press any keys. it seems to be quite annoying. please advise

I've just installed Vista Ultimate on my laptop, 1.73ghz, 1gb ram, geforce go 6200. Pretty paltry so I was surprised when it ran pretty damn smoothly with all eye candy on, including Aero.

I've installed the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack and connected my bluetooth earpiece. Unfortunately, the line in, mic volume is too low, that voice recognition can't pick up most of what I said. When I try to adjust the volume level in Options, it only goes up to something like 0.0dB which doesn't help.

Does anyone have any tips?

Well still within my budget I managed to find a good computer with 1GB RAM + Home Premium. It's a Compaq but it has gotten good reviews and I know someone who has it and they like it. I don't do much online that would take up RAM but I do want to turn off the special effects like AERO to save resources, does it give you this option? And also I know Ready Boost isnt an alternative to RAM but does it really speed up your computer?

My laptop came with these specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
Core Duo 1.60GHz
1GB RAM
80GB (I always have less than 20GB free)
ATI mobility Radeon X1400

I know computers tend to run better when you have more freespace on the harddrive, which is why I'm confused as to which upgrade is more important. The Harddrive or the RAM? My altimate goal is to get my Media Center and games to run more smoothly. They're almost always forcing me to restart my computer.

P.s. does any one know hoe to add Bet.com and VH1.com to Media Center's TV li

at the moment i have a 1.1 ghz processor (amd athlon xp) i have ordered vista home premium and it shoudl be her tomorow, the highest my motherboard will take is an athlon xp 2000+ (1.67ghz) would there be any need to upgrade this for vista to run better

Hello All! After few posts on weather or not i should get the 24" Dell display or 24" imac, I found out that more people reccomanded the 24" imac, why wouldn't they? A computer with 250Gb HDD, 1GB Ram, 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo and top of the line graphic card that provides a 5.4 Rating in vista! What else!? a 24" Cinema Wide screen display maybe?
