Hello Everyone,

I got an Acer Aspire 563WLMI Laptop and Acer has split my 120GB Hard Drive into two partions.

1) Acer (C:) 2) Acer Data (D:)

1 - For the Operating System (OS)

2- For whatever i want to use the hard drive for

I just prefer 1 partion so my hard drive is not split in anyway; Can anyone help to tell me how i put it back so i only have 1 hard drive showing.

I hope i have explained myself enough. I am quite an advanced user but when it comes to partions etc (i know very little).

Hard Drive: Acer Data (D:) Has 53.5 GB of free space which is a lot to loose, as in total it adds upto 53.6GB and as with Acer (C:) it has 44.1GB of free space and in total it adds upto 53.2GB.

Hello everyone............I just ordered a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade. I think I am going to get an external hard drive to backup my current Windows XP Home. I have never done this before so I had a few questions.

I have a 100 GB Hard Drive on my laptop. I am using 50 GB, and have 50 GB free. If I backup everything on my computer now to my new external hard drive, which will probably be a 100 GB, will that keep windows xp, and everything just like it is on my computer?

If I don't happen to like Vista on my laptop, can I just plug the external hard drive in to my laptop and reload XP and my software programs, files, and settings?

I Just installed some software "Stardock bootskin"
It's destroyed my startup files, so I need to repair it...

BUT

My Windows Vista Ultimate Disk will not start?
It goes through the gray "WINDOWS IS LOADING FILES" bar, then the green progress bar... then the screen stays black?!

I Decided to remove the hard drive to see what would happen... and it worked, it can boot without the hard drive (HDD) in!

So I Pluged in my hard drive (with the disk still running) and it couldn't pick it up, so I reset the computer... and guess what, were back to were we started?!

I use window washer from when i had XP, but when i look at my hard drive's free space, it keeps decreasing. where else should i look for temporary files? and where do the windows update install files go now? my PC is lagging because of this.i...
